New MuchLoved data shows why it is so important to give the tribute page to the family for them to keep. When you give a family full access to their tribute page it is likely to attract more donations, as well as photos, thoughts, stories and candles which they will treasure forever.

There are so many ways in which families can benefit: 

• They can easily personalise their tribute by adding photos or text.  They can then share it with wider family and friends, inviting them to add their own precious memories
• After the funeral, the tribute continues to be a place of comfort where they can add content like photos or lighting a candle on a birthday or anniversary.  Families can keep their tribute page indefinitely, at no cost 
• Some families like to do more fundraising for their chosen charity.  They take comfort in doing something meaningful, which also helps them feel connected to their loved one 
• If the family doesn’t already have a relationship with the charity, for instance when a hospice cared for their loved one, they may want to connect with the charity. The tribute can make that introduction in a way that is sensitive and relevant 

Can charities contact families to thank them for donations? 

Will the family be inundated with emails from MuchLoved and from the charity/ies? 

No. The family will only receive four short emails from MuchLoved over a period of one month. The emails provide essential access to the tribute, and briefly explain what it is and how it can be used. As the tribute can display the funeral arrangements, tribute owners can simply forward one of the emails as a way to share details, something which they may find very helpful.  

They can opt out at any time and will be asked to opt in should they wish to receive emails from the charity/charities.

• Funeral businesses are rightly proud of how much their tributes raise for charities, particularly local ones.  Donation totals are proven to be higher if the family has access
